Full Property Details :

Old Kilmun House is a large, luxurious 17th century holiday home set in 2 acres of stunning gardens by the north shore of Holy Loch, Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, Argyll. Well equipped, this superb accommodation is the perfect place from which to enjoy a memorable break with family or friends. Pets welcome. Sleeps up to 18 (14 adults).

Overview:

Situated on the north shores of Holy Loch within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and adjacent to the Argyll forest Park, Old Kilmun House is an ideal choice for exploring the stunning scenery afforded by the West Coast of Scotland. Currently awarded 4 star grading from Visit Scotland and pending a 5th ... we feel it should be already!

The house itself is a comfortable and beautifully restored 17th Century mansion house set within 2 acres of gardens with streams, waterfalls and a superb selection of plants which were planted by the Younger family in Victorian times (who owned the house). The Younger family also founded the wonderful Benmore Botanic Gardens just a couple of miles away.

Accommodation is exceptionally well equipped and includes a large sitting room and wood pannelled dining room both with open fires, snug with large television, DVD and wood burning stove, breakfasting kitchen with AGA, utility room, shower room with WC, games room (with darts & table football) and separate snooker room on the ground floors. Upstairs there are 5 double bedrooms (4 with loch views & 1 with woodland view), twin bunk room, 2 large triple attic rooms, 2 bathrooms (1 with sauna) both with bath and shower and a separate WC.

Every convenience has been thought of with the owners having really geared the property towards entertaining the guests! There's a croquet set, football goal, cricket and badminton sets as well as a 13ft trampoline and BBQ in the garden. Indoors you'll find monopoly, outburst, pictionary, scrabble, backgammon, chess, a few jigsaws and a well equipped library for those times when you just want to relax in front of a roaring fire!

Although the property is self-catering you can also arrange for the owners friends, from the award winning An Lochan restaurant in Tighnabruich, to cook a celebration meal - they can do anything from a simple supper for the AGA to a full blown four course dinner - for one night, or every night of your stay! The ultimate in flexibility and relaxation!

The house is well situated to take in the sights of the West Coast. The immediate area is renowned for some of the best walking in Scotland, as well as being a great base for fishing, riding, shooting, golf, sailing and cycling. Why not take advantage of the 6 fishing rods, 8 bikes (different sizes with helmets) and 4 sets of golf clubs which have been left for your convenience to use during your stay.

Overall this truly is a wonderful large accommodation for a get together with family or friends in Scotland. There's plenty to do and see - whatever the weather you'll never have to wander far, and with excellent pubs and restaurants locally including the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar (only 30 mins away) plus the option of having catering on-site, you'll never want to leave!
